By using the following Steps You can Install the latest version of Gnome 3 in Ubuntu 12.04
Open a terminal
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
Now Logoff the system and select Gnome
