Most of the research workers and Engineering Students need to make their Project Work and thesis work in Latex. Now Latex is not a nightmare, Lot of Graphical Front end softwares are available for Latex. Here You can See a simple Lightweight Lates Editor for Linux Users. It is written in python


You can Download Deb file from Here

Double click on deb file and install with gdebi
or
$sudo dpkg-i gummi_0.4.5-0ubuntu1_all.deb

this is a very poor choice. i recommend texmacs ( http://www.texmacs.org/ ) even if you're a tex newbie or in alternative if you're old-school and just like to hand code your tex stuff emacs with auctex and docview. in either case you get a free, flexible and powerful editor that will bend to your will and make your work shine.

I am very excited about Gummi – its seems to offer real time editing of the latex document! The interface: Latex code exists on the left and the real time document on the right – the best of both worlds. Excited to see this develop:)
