Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick comes with Simple user friendly installer. You can install Ubuntu 10.10 with limited computer knowledge. It also provide option for installing non-free software and codecs.
Partitioning is probably the most important part of installation process and it is also made simple in ubuntu 10.10.

I totally disagree with the new simple system. I have tested the new release and unfortunately Grub was automatically installed in the MBR of the computer instead of the external drive as I did in the past.
The result was that I have to send my computer for repair because I could not open Windows any more. Release 10.4 is much better (in this case) because it gives you the choice to install the Grub in the MBR of the external drive.
